Officer to Gippsland (Moe) Ride 21st June 2026
After the longest night of the year, we enjoyed good weather for the ride today and a good number of people met at Officer to join Reece’s

ride to Moe. As well as Reece’s Yamaha, we had Alf doing TEC on his KTM, Two Triumphs,

my Honda and ten BMWs!

Once greetings and briefings were done, we rode off in a light fog, Reece got us away from the freeways immediately and headed south into sunshine and Gippsland irrigation areas. Vision was good, roads were open and we got along at a good clip. Somewhere south of Longwarry the combination of shade, glaring sun and varying road conditions (wet/dry/moss/gravel etc etc) made the riding much more challenging and while I (sort of) knew where we were we also got to ride some roads I’ve never previously ridden. We then crossed north of the freeway and Reece found still more interesting, scenic and challenging back roads before leading us to Darnum, where we stopped for a cuppa and chat.

Then it was off south and east using more roads

I wasn’t familiar with. The scenery was simply great.

We entered Yarragon from the south, used a bit of freeway and took to back roads once again from Trafalgar

before arriving in Moe for lunch.

Reece - thanks for both leading and putting together a very interesting route. After lunch most of us rode north to Westbury and followed Old Sale Road back to Buln Buln. We bid each other farewell there and most went back towards Melbourne.
Graeme, Sam and I continued via Neerim and Powelltown back to the Yarra Valley.
Thanks to all who came along. I thoroughly enjoyed a great day of riding and camaraderie.
Cheers John Cook
