After Sunday's rather dismal weather we popped out to enjoy a ride in perfect weather today.
Cevat, Ian and Vaughan joined me at Lilydale for a ride
We started by riding through the farms and orchards around the back of the Dandenong Ranges, fitted in Paternoster Road
and then met up with Barry for coffee at Garfield where we had a very leisurely break.
Then it was south through some flat farmland and we briefly rejoined the South Gippsland Hwy before riding through some delightful bends and hills to Poowong
The Bass Valley Road was quite bumpy along the river flats and then provided another delightful climb up to Bena.
The hills, roads and scenery after that were a joy to ride and I won't try and detail or describe them all.
We then descended down to Grantville and were met by a high tide on Westernport Bay followed by lunch at a local café.
After lunch we headed back into the hills and rejoined the highway at The Gurdies.
At Tooradin we bid farewell to Barry and Cevat.
Ian, Vaughan and I continued back into the Dandenongs for a final stop at Sherbrooke
Thanks for coming along fellas. I thoroughly enjoyed the day
Cheers John Cook
