Telemachus Awards to Pat and Mike

The National Committee has awarded Telemachus medals to both Mike Fittalll and Pat Ryan  to recognise their outstanding service to Melbourne Branch over many years.

Congratulations to both of you and many thanks for all you do for the branch and fellow Ulysseans.

We managed to get them in the same room tonight and they were presented with their badges, certificates and patches by branch president Brian Lacey

Winter and lots still happening

You should have booked by now - the June social gathering is tomorrow night and lots to share after recent events.

A special thanks to both Reece and Peter for volunteering to lead their first rides for us. Reece on Sunday and Peter early in July, check the calendar and come along and support them and their efforts.

Check the calendar as the gathering of Victorian members from far and wide is coming up at Newstead in mid July. Brian is leading the ride there.

We've been lucky with the weather on recent weekends and had really good turn outs on the rides including people riding with us for their first time - Great!

Ride and event planning is coming along nicely. I'd still love to hear from a couple of people to fill the gaps in the calendar for July. Check the dates available and get in touch wi…

All sorts of things

Edited: The branch social night at Mulgrave has been scheduled for Wednesday, 17th June. Come along - and socialise. Please let Brian know your intentions.

A plea from the ride coordinator – me.

·         The ride calendar is still looking a bit vacant into July and beyond.  I’d really love to hear from a couple more regular riders willing to lead a ride.

·         Particularly at this time of year, I’d recommend shorter such as 80 km to cuppa break, another 80 km to lunch leaving a shorter ride home while the days are short.

·         Maps etc, are fine for longer rides, but I’d recommend some routes in areas you know and where turns can be made safely.   A “pre-ride” is always a good idea to confirm what does and doesn’t work safely.

·         Chat with us – all committee members have led and coordinated rides over the years.

A reminder - they're not immediately obvious, but if you go to "groups" you'll find more including current ride reports etc. 🧐

Copied from Brian’s entry on Facebook

For those members who’ve not been paying attention, Andy Strapz is closing down at the end of June. Saturday June 6th will be their last Saturday opening. To mark that occasion and to provide an opportunity to say farewell and see you out in the road, Andy is inviting customers to call in on Sat 6th for a chat and maybe a few bargains in the run-out box
