End of Summer News
Yes, summer is ending and the branch AGM was held last Saturday. Brian Lacey, Pat Ryan and Brian Quintall remain as president, secretary and treasurer respectively. Jeff has retired from the committee, and I am taking over the ride coordinator role from Andrew.
We still have a vacancy for a ride leader this coming Sunday 1st March so if you feel you can help please contact me ASAP. If I hear from no-one, we will probably post a mystery ride from Epping and the ride leader can be selected from those who turn up.
We do have lots coming up including an overnight ride via Wilsons Promontory to Yarram this week, a ride to Bombala on the Labor Day weekend and the annual alpine run at the end of March.
Plans are also being made for rides to varied destinations including Portarlington (perhaps with a ferry crossing return) the Mornington Peninsula post school holidays, a loop to Rosedale and back and hopefully a post school holiday multi day ride to the western district with perhaps a night at Halls Gap and a night closer to the coast. Keep an eye on the calendar.
Our committee members are very active in attending and leading rides, but we’d really love to hear from a few more members to lead an occasional ride – love to hear from a few more regular riders and help and advice always available in planning. My advice is to keep it simple, an 80 km “leg” to morning cuppa break, another 80 km “leg” to the lunch break and a consider a return leg. A “pre – ride” is always a good idea to confirm what turns work or don’t work safely.
Cheers
John Cook

Next Sunday's ride has now been filled - Many thanks Andrew but don't let this deter you from sharing the load/love. The more variety the better😎
