The Alpine Run and More

To those coming, see you all in the morning.

There may have been a dusting of snow atop Hotham today. None forecast for tomorrow, but temperature below 10 degrees as we cross the top, so dress warm. Being cold can bring on fatigue more quickly.

Despite all the media hype, I'm not aware of any fuel supply issues on our route apart from price. First stop will be at Timberline in Heyfield where those with limited range can top up.  A local friend will meet us there and escort us through to Bruthen the back way (not via Bairnsdale) and a fill up is recommended at Bruthen to get us over the mountain. Petrol is available at Swifts Creek and/or Omeo for those with limited range.

A fill up at Mt Beauty is recommended on Saturday arvo before we settle in at Tawonga for the night.

Sunday morning - earlyish start & ride to Beechworth for breakfast. Backroads to Wangaratta & a bit of freeway to Euroa for lunch, fuel & rest stop. Then back roads to Yea for rest / farewell stop.

Another thing

I'd really love to hear from someone keen on leading a ride on Sunday 12th April.

Cheers John Cook

Well, the snow was thicker than I expected for a few hundred metres!

I wasn't expecting it to be that thick! Pic from Jack

Fuel was available at all the planned stops but dearer than normal

Ride report pending.

Thanks to all who came along
