Ride Report 12/4/2026

Sunday weather did not promise sunny skies or dry roads but I thought "How bad can it be riding through Trentham and Mt Macedon on a wet day?" Pretty bad was the answer but it was not raining at home so off I went to Werribee South to meet Roger for his ride and to find that Colin, John, Cevat and Mike all thought like me. And it was still not raining.

Off we went via a new route out of the start point exploring new suburbs like Eynesbury and the like before heading to Ballan and up into the winding roads in the hills.

Of course it always rains at Trentham and its approaches so we endured steady but relatively light rain as it got colder by the minute. Morning tea at Trentham warmed us up and I donned the waterproofs and off we went towards Macedon. Roger knows his roads in the area so we went this way and that way mostly dodging traffic and thoroughly enjoying the ride in spite of the rain which I now didn't care about because I kept dry in my waterproofs. Roger in his wisdom decided to bypass Mt Macedon and I got to see Hanging Rock through the drizzle, but no young lady picnicing up there, as we flew past.

Lunch stop was at Gisborne as planned and pretty much on time. Another pie for me and no rain so a good break.

We then departed for home down the freeway but copped heavy rain for a while before returning to sunny Melbourne having enjoyed a great day out.

Thanks again to Roger for a good ride. No TEC today as we were only six bikes and nobody got lost.
