Alf, our ride leader

Alf did a great job leading and managed to show us some roads I’ve never previously used or combined into a ride route.    He went a step further by taking us to his home in Korumburra for our morning cuppa and rest break and Renate had put on a very impressive spread for us as well us welcoming us all into her home including people she had never met.  Thank you Renate and Alf.

Graham joined in for his second ride with us on this DR 650

and Ewan came along for his first ever ride with us on his Triumph,

Gippsland mid-week Ride - Day One

Mike put on a mid week overnight ride into Gippsland including a visit to Wilsons Promontory.  I didn’t have two days spare, so today I decided to join the first half of the ride and come home again.

Six Uysseans (Mike, Gary, Jeff Nick, Pat, and Terry) continued on for the full ride.

I noticed that all 7 bikes today were shaft drive.  Mike's new Guzzi, Pat's Triumph, 4 Boxers (GS & RS) and my old Honda.

The ride section we did today was thoroughly enjoyable and Mike added quite a few very nice diversions on the way down to the Prom.

Once past Lang Lang, we took to backroads

I recorded the ride yesterday as shown. Yes, a really good ride through country we just can’t visit on a one day ride.

Euroa Loop Ride 15 February 2026

Over a dozen people assembled at Lilydale to join the loop ride to Euroa and the weather was great – perhaps a bit warm in the afternoon.

As the photos show, we always seem to get a great diversity of bikes

on the Melbourne Branch rides, and we also get a great diversity of people.  Examples.  On Friday Reece rode to Strathbogie, but not satisfied with that, he rode over from Drouin to Lilydale in time to join today’s ride to Euroa and Strathbogie.   Graeme (a neighbour from Montrose)

I think he has philosophy sorted
I think he has philosophy sorted

got up a bit early and instead of the 10 minute tootle to Lilydale, he went via the Reefton and Black Spurs before looping back to join us at Lilydale!  Hi only regret was a contribution to State Revenue while coming back over the Black Spur.

Yes, another great ride thanks John. In spite of using one of my less favourite roads we all had a pretty darn good day out. Thanks to Sam for another sterling job as TEC until he resigned and left the job to me on the return journey. I arrived home at 5pm to discover we were due somewhere at 5pm, so I had time for a quick shower and off again. I really slept the sleep of the just when I finally hit the sack!
