Central Highlands (Ballarat) celebrated 30 years this weekend.

We and many others rode up to join and and help them celebrate many others made a whole weekend of it
Ten of us gathered at Ardeer

and chatted for a bit before riding off towards Ballarat with Reece doing TEC duty. Gary (hope I got that right - let me know) joined us on his Spyder after a longish absence from Ulysses post retirement. Great to see people joining us again.
We did a simple run out the freeway to Leakes Road and then rode down to Eynesbury. Speed limits quite low along there now, but the view up to Melton Reservoir/ Weir is quite nice. The ride out to Glenmore is a bit bumpy in places but provides some nice views

and a spectacular climb. We were made welcome at the café in Ballan and enjoyed outr break and chat.

Then it was west again and I enjoyed the loop and stop near the summit of Mt Buninyong.

We briefly rode beside a bit of Lake Wendouree before stopping at the pavillion where we were made very welcome by the Central Highlands Branch who had put on a sausage sizzle and cold drinks in the pavillion.

Great effort and many thanks for the warm welcome. It was also a perfect day by the lake.
Got to chat with people from far and wide including Grampians, Geelong, Colac, Westgate Wanderers plus some I've no doubt missed. Got to speak to two people well into their 90s including one aged 96 and who had arrived on his BMW R65 outfit
Time passed to quickly and then it was time to head home - for example Reece lives out at Drouin - well the other side of Melbourne.
We rode east (with a couple of navigation glitches by me north of the highway as far as Wallace and then used back roads past Ironbark Gorge Bridge before splitting up at Bacchus Marsh.

Many thanks to all who came along and I had a great day.
Also a great example of the Ulysses Club being much more than individual branches and the camaraderie is provided and enjoyed in many way.
Cheers John Cook
