Lilydale to Macedon Ride 22 March 2026
About 15 people gathered at Lilydale

for Colin’s Ride to Macedon

on what turned out to be a beautiful warm spring day. Rob met us halfway along on his latest ride - a club plated Yamaha TDM. There were certainly lots of people out today. Lots of people riding bikes the opposite way between Healesville and Toolangi and at several other locations along the way.
Colin led us on a great route, including past vineyards around Gruyere, Myers Creek Road and the delightful climb from Glenburn back up to Kinglake and then down to Whittlesea

for our cuppa / rest break. There was a bit of congestion around Wallan and then we took more back roads including through Darraweit Guim

and on past Mount Macedon

to our lunch stop in Macedon.

Sam once again did a sterling job as TEC. Lots of chatter exchanged both before the ride and at the stops. It was good to see new member Ewan out for another ride with us after his first ride last week.
Thanks Colin and Sam, another great day out riding with Ulysses Club, Melbourne Branch and thanks to all who came along.
As we had guests coming this evening, I left quickly after lunch and Ian accompanied me back to the eastern suburbs. We did a simple, but good run down the freeway to the ring road around to Greensborough in very good time. We then took to back roads, detoured around some roadworks and bid each farewell in Chirnside Park. I fuelled the bike up near home (at a reasonable price for current times) and it is now ready for another big ride at the end of this week.
Cheers
John Cook
