Eight riders, including myself presented for today's ride. All bikes had 2 cylinders and shaft drives. Not all BMWs though. one was a Mandello Guzzi. Mike, Jack, Sam, Cevat, Nick, Colin and our new member, Brett came for what promised to be a cool day with afternoon showers. Never totally trust the weather. We started out dry then getting a damp road through Myers Creek and Toolangi. This changed to mist on the Melba Hwy and through Murrundindi. Yea for our morning tea was dry and a few degrees warmer which was helped by relaxing inside the Bakery. On the Murrundindi Rd we had to avoid 2 trees which were blocking much of the road. Colin had to leave us in Yea as he had home duties.

Our plan originally was to go over Highlands. On consensus we agreed it was smarter to avoid that owing to the conditions. We continued on to Molesworth then turning right to come back onto Maroondah Hwy and Marysville for lunch. Again on the Maroondah a tree was down blocking most of the road and two policemen were controlling the traffic so we could safely get through. Soon afterwards we saw a fire truck approaching, obviously to clear the tree. The final ride into Maryville was drizzly, damp and cold. Entering Marysville the temperature dropped from 8C to 7C and you felt it. The Bakery again was the choice spot to be and we enjoyed their warmth and food. We each said our goodbyes there. Despite the weather it was an enjoyable, trouble-free ride with not much traffic about. The Black Spur was damp, as expected, but Healesville was dry from there to home.
