We had a really good number of people come along on Colin’s

ride to Riddells Creek today including another first time rider plus some recent attendees coming back for more - Great. 

Once greetings and briefings were done, we rode off

with Sam doing TEC duty again and we did a tour of back roads to Healesville.  Then we rode up Myers Creek Road (very enjoyable around the 80- KPH speed limit with no traffic) to Toolangi where we encountered lots of bikes heading in the opposite direction.  Then it was more back roads

via Strath Creek and up to Broadford for a relax and chat.

After Broadford I became a bit geographically challenged (lost?)

but thoroughly enjoyed riding narrower roads with some spectacular views and the giant granite (I think) rocks really added some “impact” to the views.   Several oncoming car drivers showed great roadcraft and put their left wheels into the gravel on the narrow road to give us riders full use of the bitumen.  Kudos to those drivers.     

Lunch was a relaxed affair outside several cafés.  One rider was getting some fuel anxiety as we arrived as he had ridden a fair distance to the start point.                        

Colin, thanks for a great ride. It was a bit over 200 km and finished relatively close to Melbourne, the weather was quite warm for early spring and I even swapped to cooler gloves after our “cuppa/ rest” break.    

Jack thanks for the photos you supplied.  Many thanks to all who came along and added to the camaraderie.
