Mid week Ride to Rosedale
Gee, these days off during the week provide some challenges.
Today Cevat Nick, Paul and Vaughan stoically got up early, abandoned the joys of home and helped me do some reconnaissance riding.

The bikes were a Harley Davidson, a KTM, two GS Bimmers and my son’s Africa Twin Honda which I had borrowed – so plenty of variety again.
The Yarra Valley and mountain roads provided some cool weather riding before our cuppa break at Noojee. We even saw an old International V8 prime mover towing a semi-trailer at a good clip through the mountains before he found a spot to make room and let us all pass. Great bit of driving and roadcraft.

The coffee and snack service at Noojee was good and friendly. On the way east from Noojee, we encountered another semi-trailer (with four axles at rear) also getting along at a very good clip. From Fumina down to Hill End we certainly got our share of corners to enjoy. We stopped briefly to check out Blue Rock Dam

and rode on via Glengarry to Rosedale where we stopped for lunch.
After a chat and lunch, we rode south towards Gormandale & Loy Yang

to Churchill and continued west via back roads to Thorpdale

before the fuel gauge made me decide to stop at Trafalgar “just in case”. We the used the freeway back to Nar Nar Goon where we waved Nick and Cevat farewell while Paul, Vaughan and I headed back into the hills.
I had another enjoyable day out riding.
Cheers
John Cook
